The Indian Railways intends to build a semi-high-speed rail link between Bengaluru and Hyderabad, reducing the travel time to 2.5 hours. According to India InfraHub, the railway track can support trains traveling at a speed of 200 km/h, which means that the distance between two cities can soon be covered in two and a half hours, or 150 minutes.

It takes roughly 10 to 11 hours for travelers to commute between Hyderabad and Bengaluru by rail with the current infrastructure. But now the two blooming IT hubs of the nation, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, might get closer in terms of train connectivity as the Indian Railways is reportedly considering building a semi-high-speed railway between the two metropolises.

The PM Gati Shakti program calls for the construction of the project, which is expected to cost approximately 30,000 crores. The track will be constructed over a 503km route from Hyderabad’s Secunderabad Station to Bengaluru’s Yelahanka Station. 

According to the study, a fence wall 1.5 meters high will also be constructed on either side of this semi-high speed railway track to assist the train is moving at the anticipated pace without encountering any obstacles.
