BCCI's Title Sponsor

As the BCCI’s title sponsor for all local and international matches played at home, Mastercard has taken over for India’s PayTM, a provider of mobile payment apps.

After PayTm and the BCCI mandarins held thorough conversations over the transfer of sponsorship rights, the shift was inevitable.

Details About Mastercard Replaces PayTm as the BCCI’s Title Sponsor:

According to a press release, “Mastercard will be the title sponsor for all international matches (both women’s and men’s) held on home soil, domestic cricket games like the Irani Trophy, Duleep Trophy, and Ranji Trophy organized by the BCCI, as well as all junior cricket (Under 19 and Under 23) matches held in India.

“Along with the international home series, the BCCI’s domestic events are vital as they are a stepping stone towards creating India a good international side,” BCCI president Sourav Ganguly remarked.

According to Secretary Jay Shah, “Indian Cricket is about to enter an exciting phase as we have Australia and South Africa coming over for white-ball series before the T20 World Cup as well as Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and the renowned Border-Gavaskar Trophy early next year.”

“With the return of the Duleep Trophy and a full Ranji Trophy season, domestic cricket has a busy schedule. There will be a lot of activity in all age categories throughout the 2022–23 season, and I am sure that this relationship will be fruitful.”

M.S. Dhoni, a former captain of India and a longtime Mastercard ambassador, continued, “I’m overjoyed that Mastercard will be the official sponsor of all BCCI home cricket games, notably the domestic, junior, and women’s competitions. Today’s Ranji and junior athletes will represent their nation tomorrow and continue to inspire pride in the 1.3 billion Indians.”
