“I discovered that the top portion of the gate had been shattered when I entered the latch after returning from the wedding. In the house, everything was dispersed. When I entered the bedroom, a young man was soundly dozing off, and empty bottles of alcohol were also strewn on the floor, according to Sharwanand, the home’s owner and an Army veteran.

The family claims that the home was missing more than 100 grammes of gold, 2 kg of silver goods valued Rs 1.5 lakh, 40 sarees worth Rs 50,000, and Rs 6 lakh in cash.

After waiting for the man to regain consciousness, Sharwanand’s relatives handed him over to the police. The man, identified as Salim from Lucknow’s Sharda Nagar, admitted to police that he was a member of the two-person burglary team that had targeted Shawranand’s house during an inquiry.

Salim claimed to the police that the two entered the home illegally and looked around for valuables. Salim claims that his accomplice then forced him to consume the wine that was kept in the house. Alcohol-induced intoxication caused Salim to pass out in the bedroom while his accomplice fled with the stolen goods. The accomplice is currently being sought by police.
