Details about Amul Signed as a regional sponsor of team Argentina For the FIFA World Cup 2022
Amul, the largest dairy firm in India, has been appointed as the regional sponsor for the Argentina football team for the FIFA World Cup 2022, which will begin in Qatar in November. Given that this is Amul’s and the Argentina football team’s first regional sponsorship agreement, it is a significant milestone.
Claudio Fabian Tapia, president of the Argentine Football Association, expressed his satisfaction at Amul becoming the AFA’s first regional sponsor in India in a public statement. Respectively COO of the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd, Jayen Mehta expressed that Amul is happy about such a development and it is proud to announce its association with the Argentina Football team.
Amul tweeted this article introducing itself as the proud regional sponsor of the Argentina football team, confirming the same in its own special way. In a tweet, the Argentina Football Association was also mentioned.
The seeds of Indian dairy tycoon Amul were planted in India in 1946, which was 76 years ago.
Amul was established as part of a cooperative movement in Anand, Gujarat, against Polson Dairy, which bought milk at extremely low prices from local farmers in the Kaira district and sold it to the then-Bombay government. Everyone gained from this commerce, except for farmers.
It’s also important to mention that Amul is managed by Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd. (GCMMF), the largest food product marketing organization in India with a 2020–21 annual revenue of US$ 5.3 billion. The Indian milkman Dr. Kurien, who served as the GCMMF’s founding chairman from 1973 to 2006, is credited with Amul’s marketing success.
Amul also created a distinctive product under the name “Masska for Messi” as a tribute to the renowned Lionel Messi. Additionally, Amul’s cooperation pays attention to India’s ongoing 75th “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” festival.
