Apple has not confirmed its plans to create stores in India, but The Economic Times reported last year that Apple planned to open its first store between January and March 2023, with a showpiece 22,000-square-foot Mumbai store opening first. The store was supposed to debut in 2021, but the worldwide health crisis and economic instability forced Apple to postpone the opening.
Apple is also rumored to be developing a second, smaller 10,000 to 12,000-square-foot store in New Delhi, as well as other outlets in malls and high-end shopping areas across India, with the goal of making retail a significant component of its presence in the nation.
