Although the formal launch of 5G in Odisha has not yet occurred, a number of internet users have experienced extremely fast internet connection using the ‘5G network’ in the state’s capital.
A brief about Citizens in Bhubaneswar claim extremely fast internet service on the 5G network:
They shared screenshots of the internet speed testing on Twitter. A customer reported having internet that was blazingly fast, with a speed of up to 560 Mbps.
The ‘5G network’ has apparently been used by Airtel customers in the city’s Master Canteen, Infocity, Kalinga Stadium, and Chandrasekharpur neighborhoods.
Airtel, however, had not yet made any formal announcements in this area.
Notably, Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated last month at the Odisha Nirman Conclave-2022 hosted by Kanak News here that the infrastructure required for a 5G network is already in place in Odisha and will be operational within 2-3 months.
