During Deepotsav, Ayodhya hopes to set a new world record with 21 lakh diyas on 51 ghats

On the eve of Diwali, the temple town of Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh will attempt to create a new Guinness World Record by lighting over 21 lakh diyas (earthen lamps) in 51 ghats as part of the Deepotsav event.

The event is set to start at 3 p.m. and will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Over 21 lakh lamps will be lit by 25,000 volunteers. A Guinness World Records team will be on hand at the Deepotsav festival to count the diyas using a drone camera.

Almost all cabinet ministers from the Uttar Pradesh government are slated to attend the Ayodhya function.

Following Deepotsav, there will be a fantastic laser show.

Ayodhya Range Inspector General (IG) Praveen Kumar said of Deepotsav security preparations, “The area has been divided into 14 police zones.” We also enlisted the assistance of Artificial Intelligence. “The crowd and traffic will be controlled.”

Over 15 lakh diyas were lit by over 20,000 volunteers on the banks of the Sarayu River in Ayodhya last year, setting a new Guinness World Record.
