Indian Railways Offers Passengers Free Lunches

Indian Railways, which is working to enhance its performance in terms of assisting passengers in arriving on time, will inevitably experience occasional delays because of unforeseen events, including natural as well as technical factors.

For such circumstances, meals are served onboard luxury trains like the Rajdhani, Shatabdi, and Duranto Express trains. If one of these trains is delayed, Indian Railways would also provide free meals to the passengers on board this train.

Details about Indian Railways Offers Passengers Free Lunches:

If these premium trains are more than two hours late reaching the specified stop, Railways is required by law to deliver a free dinner and beverage.

Depending on how far behind schedule the train is in reaching its destination, passengers have a variety of meals to select from, including breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, and supper.

The unbundling will be implemented by Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC), which would primarily distinguish between food preparation and distribution on trains.

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) has taken on the challenge of enhancing the meals by giving equal importance to both preparation and distribution. The IRCTC intends to build new kitchens and renovate existing ones in addition to basic kitchens and units.

The new regulations were created with cleanliness and quality in mind. The IRCTC has implemented biodegradable trays and airtight containers for packing the food given to passengers in a few chosen Rajdhani and Duronto trains. The kitchen staff has also been ordered to wear hand gloves at all times.
