Instrument landing system against rain and fog will be installed at Bhubaneswar Airport

The Instrument Landing System (ILS) will soon be installed at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA). The choice was made in response to the frequent landing and takeoff delays brought on by heavy fog.

Details about the Instrument landing system against rain and fog will be installed at Bhubaneswar Airport.

If there is poor visibility because of thick fog or severe rain, the ILS will give aircraft horizontal and vertical guidance before and during landing.

The work to construct the ILS at the airport runway has been started by the airport administration in preparation for the FIH Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup in 2023.

The Bhubaneswar airport’s 800-meter runway will have an instrument landing system installed.

After the ILS was installed, pilots could see the runway well from a height of about 200 feet even in heavy rain, deep fog, or even at night.
