Through the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), restaurants can sell food to customers directly without the involvement of a middleman. Despite being around since September 2022, the meal delivery tech platform is currently growing in popularity.

According to reports, the platform has reached the threshold of 10,000 daily orders. People who captured screenshots comparing the prices with Swiggy and Zomato and stated that ONDC costs substantially less are also using it more frequently.

The ONDC system, created by the Indian government, enables eateries to sell their meals directly to customers. In addition, the portal offers groceries, furniture, cleaning supplies, and other items.

In Bengaluru, ONDC debuted initially in September 2022. However, it has since spread to several cities.

OnNDC, in contrast to other services like Swiggy and Zomato, is far less expensive. For instance, an order on ONDC costs just 147 cents, compared to up to 209 cents on Swiggy and 212 cents on Zomato.

On the Paytm UPI platform, ONDC can be used. When you enter “ONDC” in the search bar, a number of possibilities, including the food shop, cleaning supplies and groceries, show on the screen.

Enter ONDC Food into the search bar to order food and look up the menu item you want. Food is subsequently delivered to your doorsteps, just like Swiggy or Zomato, after it further displays restaurant selections. Even However, not all eateries are selling meals through ONDC as it is a relatively new platform.
