Since 2019, the Ministry of External Affairs has published information about President and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foreign trips. According to the figures, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took 21 international visits while President Barack Obama took eight, totaling Rs 6.24 crore.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi travelled abroad 21 times and spent over Rs 22.76 crore on these travels, according to Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan in a written reply to a Rajya Sabha question. Since 2019, the President has taken eight trips abroad, costing more than Rs 6.24 crore, according to the minister.

According to the minister, the government has spent Rs 6,24,31,424 on President’s visits, Rs 22,76,76,934 on Prime Minister’s visits, and Rs 20,87,01,475 on External Affairs Minister’s trips since 2019.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar travelled to 86 countries during this time period. Since 2019, the Prime Minister has visited Japan three times, as well as the United States and the United Arab Emirates twice.

Ram Nath Kovind made seven of the eight presidential visits, while current President Droupadi Murmu visited the United Kingdom in September.
