On Monday, PM Modi announced the release of the 13th payment under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, noting that Rs 16,000 crore had been paid to the individual accounts of the farmers who will benefit from it. In one click, 16000 billion rupees have been put into the accounts of millions of farmers under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, according to PM Modi.

At a ceremony at Belagavi, Karnataka, the complete sum of the 13th payment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme was distributed to 80 million farmers. The total cash given to the beneficiaries is anticipated to surpass Rs 2.30 lakh crore with the addition of this most recent installment.

Under the income transfer system, more than Rs 2 trillion in payments have been made to farmer bank accounts since its debut in February 2019. These payments were made in 12 equal installments of Rs 2,000 each. Under the programme, farmers receive Rs 6,000 in financial aid each year in three equal payments.

With the payment in full, farmers will have received more than Rs 2.32 trillion in transfers since the program’s inception.

According to a statement from the agriculture ministry, more than 30 million women have benefited from the programme, receiving more than Rs 53,600 crore in total.

Farmers who own land that meets specific exclusion criteria are given financial support as part of the PM-Kisan programme.

The Central government has started taking steps to create a digital ecosystem for agriculture through the use of digital technology in the PM-Kisan implementation.
