According to Federal Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Indian Railways has approved Rs 303 crore for the development of Cuttack station.

“The facilities at Cuttack Railway Station would be top-notch. For the fiscal years 2023–2024, the Center has earmarked over Rs 10,000 crore for the railroads sector in Odisha. At the Bhadrak-Nayagarh Town-Bhadrak MEMU’s inauguration, Vaishnaw stated that the Indian Railways had chosen to renovate up to 57 railway stations in the state.

On the occasion of Sri Ram Navami, Vaishnaw and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan flagged off the first run of the Bhadrak-Nayagarh Town-Bhadrak MEMU at Cuttack Railway Station.

According to an official, the public of the relevant regions will have access to facilities on this train for direct travel rather than changing transit options at intermediate locations.

The train will depart Nayagarh Town in the other direction at 1705 and arrive in Bhadrak at 2245. According to the official, there would be passenger halts at all stations between Bhadrak and Nayagarh Town in both directions.
