Senior journalist Ravish Kumar resigns from NDTV

A day after NDTV’s founders and promoters Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy resigned as directors from the board of the news broadcaster’s promoter organization RRPR Holding Private Limited, award-winning journalist Ravish Kumar announced his resignation from the network.

A brief about Senior journalist Ravish Kumar resigns from NDTV after Adani Group takeover the News Channel:

According to many news outlets, NDTV announced the retirement in an internal mail sent to the channel, with immediate effect.

Few journalists have had such a large-scale social impact as Ravish. This is evident from the overwhelmingly positive feedback about him, the large crowds he attracts everywhere, the prestigious awards and accolades he has received, both domestically and internationally, and his daily reports, which champion the needs and rights of the underserved, according to NDTV President Suparna Singh in an email to staff.

For more than 20 years, Ravish Kumar has been a crucial component of NDTV. Among the shows he once hosted were Ravish ki Report, Prime Time, Hum Log, and Des Ki Baat.

The departure was verified by insiders in the channel’s editorial division.

This occurs in the midst of the Adani Group’s open acquisition bid for NDTV, which is due to expire on December 5.

According to NDTV’s regulatory filing, the Adani Group’s chief technology officer Sudipta Bhattacharya, senior journalist Sanjay Pugalia, CEO of Adani’s AMG Media Network, and journalist Senthil Sinniah Chengalvarayan are taking over as board directors.
