Tuesday saw the announcement of the third Don movie by director Farhan Akhtar through Twitter. Shah Rukh Khan, a superstar, played the lead role in both of the prior Dons films.

Ranveer Singh, a Bollywood superstar, will reportedly take SRK’s place in the Don universe, according to sources. However, the makers and actor have not yet confirmed this.
With the exception of its tagline, “A New Era Begins,” the posted clip by Farhan offers no insight into what viewers might anticipate from this new film. The clip received an immediate response from the internet, with one user sending out heart-eye emoticons and another seemed to be anticipating another thrilling Don series installment.
One commenter, though, seems angered by the suggestion that Shah Rukh wouldn’t be the star of this film. There’s no need to call it Don 3 if SRK isn’t in it, the comment said. Call it a reboot if it’s a new age. Fly on the coattails of Don & Don 2, and after years of us demanding an SRK Don 3, not even have the decency to acknowledge fan feelings in the appropriate way, is just rude.
The movie Don 1 was a remake of the first Don, which starred Amitabh Bachchan. SRK played the part played by elder Bachchan in Don 1 and Don 2. Don 3’s release date has not yet been determined.
