Kaivalya Vohra, a co-founder of Zepto, is the youngest self-made and richest person in India according to the IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2022. One of the youngest wealthy people in the nation is Aadit Palicha, his partner. Zepto was formed in 2021 by two Stanford University dropouts. They have had significant success with their online grocery platform Zepto, which is currently valued at $900 million, despite only being 19 years old.

13 self-made individuals born in the 1990s made Hurun’s list, all of whom are self-made. In the Bengaluru area 19-year-old, Kaivalya Vohra from a supermarket delivery service Zepto is the earliest self-made and earliest wealthy person.

Vohra is estimated to be worth $1 billion. The richest list places him at position 1,036. Palicha, who has wealth of 1,200 crores, is ranked 950th on the rich list.

Following its recent Series-D investment of $200 Million from prestigious international investors such as Y Combinator Continuity, Kaiser Permanente, Nexus Venture Partners, Glade Brook Capital, and Lachy Groom, Zepto is India’s fastest-growing e-grocery startup, valued at $900 million.

Zepto, a Mumbai-based company, operates in ten of the nation’s largest cities and employs over 1000 people. Zepto provides 10-minute home delivery of more than 3000 products, such as fresh produce, dairy, everyday cooking necessities, and goods for health and hygiene, to Indian households. According to LinkedIn, the company is reinventing the $600 billion Indian grocery market by making it simpler and more convenient with strong technological skills, an effective business strategy, and a network of highly optimized distribution facilities spread across its 10 sites.

Along with its grocery delivery service, Zepto has now launched a cafe that lets clients order coffee, tea, and other cafe products.

Neha Narkhede, 37, the co-founder of Confluent, a streaming data technology company, is included as the youngest self-made woman entrepreneur in India on Hurun’s list for the current year.

Hurun India reports that this year there are 1,103 people who have a fortune of $1 billion or more, up 96 from the previous year and up 62% over the previous five years.

Adani Group’s Gautam Adani is the richest man in India with a wealth of ₹10,94,400 crore, overtaking Reliance Industries (RIL) Mukesh Ambani whose wealth is around ₹7,94,700 crore.

In terms of city-wise, with 283 individuals, Mumbai tops the India Rich list followed by New Delhi (185) and Bengaluru (89). The country’s financial hub Mumbai added 28 people to the rich list.
