The new iPhone 14’s design saw a minor update that makes it simpler to perform DIY repairs on the device.
According to the how-to website iFixit, the iPhone 14 can be opened from the front and rear by just removing two screws. The front and back screens of the phone are held in place by those screws.

The iPhone 14 is the first new iPhone to be released after Apple started its self-repair program, which enables iPhone owners to buy official Apple replacement parts and rent the tools necessary to complete the repair directly from the business. This makes the design change noteworthy.
According to iFixit, having both sides accessible adds other technical challenges, such as having an extra side to seal for protection against water, and potential issues with radio frequency.
The iPhone 14’s internal components, including those in charge of GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, and 5G satellite signals, are all arranged on a single midframe underneath the display. If the phone is dropped, the midframe also cushions the impact.
The new iPhone 14 has been redesigned and lacks a SIM-card port in addition to having an upgraded camera.
The hardware of the iPhone 14 didn’t differ considerably from that of the iPhone 13 prior to the discovery of this redesign. According to a recent article by Insider’s Antonio Villas-Boas, most customers probably won’t upgrade from the iPhone 13 to the iPhone 14.
The iPhone 14 received a “repairability score” of 7 out of 10 from iFixit, which also stated that it is “the most repairable iPhone in years.” Making the iPhone 14 more repairable, according to the website, “would help it last longer and lessen its total impact on the world.”
The iPhone 14 now differs from the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, which don’t have the same accessibility on the front and back.
