Text postings are a new format that TikTok is experimenting with.
Text posts will be the newest feature added to the popular video app TikTok, which is owned by parent company ByteDance. Other features already available on TikTok include live videos, photos, duets, where other users can post their own videos side-by-side, and stitches, where users can combine their videos with previously posted videos.

TikTok is joining other social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, Threads, Instagram Stories, and Tumblr that already have a text component as a standard feature by introducing a text post option.
As of Monday, the function can be used in the app.
According to a press release from TikTok, “With text posts, we’re expanding the parameters of content creation for everyone on TikTok, giving the written creativity we’ve seen in comments, captions, and videos a dedicated space to shine.”
