Vistara starts talking about integrating its workforce with Air India

According to reports, Vistara and Air India, both members of the Tata Group, are in talks to combine their staffs. This occurs as the carriers’ planned merger awaits regulatory approval.

A brief about Vistara starts talking about integrating its workforce with Air India

According to an article in The Economic Times, Vistara CEO Vinod Kannan stated that any employee rationalization is doubtful, but that not everyone might obtain the same role or position at Air India. According to the article, Air India is also working to unify its numerous personnel groups into a single organizational structure.

According to the report, Vistara and AirAsia India would be integrated after the first round of integrations between old and new Air India staff.

However, Kannan noted that other integration areas, such as networks and brands, wouldn’t be feasible until the necessary regulatory licenses were received.

This event occurs as Air India is being questioned by the Competition Commission of India (CCI), which must approve the deal, on why the merger with Vistara should not be looked into. The merger between Air India and Vistara, according to the competition authority, won’t have a negative effect on the market. Additionally, they claimed that their company operations would not be materially impacted by the CCI investigation.

According to earlier media reports, the CCI was worried that the combined company would have a monopoly on particular routes and classifications, such as business class. Eventually, Air India might have to abandon some routes or cut frequency.

After the merger is complete, the company will operate as India’s full-service airline.
