A disturbing occurrence happened in West Bengal where a couple went to extraordinary lengths while traveling the state to make an Instagram reel. The Times of India said that a couple from the North 24 Parganas area sold their child to pay for an iPhone 14 so they could make Instagram reels.

The event was discovered after neighbors noted that the family’s eight-month-old kid was missing yet the parents appeared carefree and unconcerned. Additionally, the couple’s possession of an iPhone handset, which costs at least a lakh rupees, caused some of their neighbors to have second thoughts because they were aware of their previous financial struggles. The neighbors then complained to the police department.
The mother has been taken into custody by the police, but the father has fled.
The mother admitted to the authorities that they had sold the infant in order to pay for an iPhone that would allow them to post reels on Instagram documenting their trips around West Bengal.
In a case involving human trafficking, the police have filed a complaint against the couple as well as the lady who purchased the infant.
