Adani Total Gas Ltd. (ATGL), a gas distribution firm, has received an order from Convergence Energy Services for electric vehicle charging stations in eight locations.

ATGL has been awarded a letter of award for the installation, testing, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of electric vehicle charging stations in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, and Surat.

The contract calls for the services to be delivered using a build, own, and operate (BOO) approach.

Adani Total Gas announced its entry into electric mobility in March when it opened its first electric vehicle charging station (EVC) in Ahmedabad.

The company declared its intention to grow its network by establishing 1,500 EVCs across the country and has kept an expansion plan ready to go beyond this figure, based on demand creation and momentum building in the country’s EV ecosystem.

Adani Total Gas Ltd. is the country’s largest private City Gas Distribution company, providing both Piped Natural Gas (PNG) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).

It serves 38 geographical areas, 9 of which are administered by ATGL and the remainder by Indian Oil-Adani Gas Pvt. Ltd., a 50:50 joint venture of Adani Total Gas Ltd. and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.

Adani Total Gas shares are currently trading at Rs 3,653.80, up 0.90 percent.

Adani Total Gas is a significant private participant in India, creating city gas distribution (CGD) networks to supply piped natural gas (PNG) to industrial, commercial, and domestic (residential) consumers, as well as compressed natural gas (CNG) to the transportation industry.
