In the past, Sisodia has said he was willing to serve up to seven or eight months in prison. Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of his party and the chief minister of Delhi, had informed him that they would look after his family while he was away.

“Do not feel sorry for me even if I spend 7-8 months in jail; instead, be proud. PM Narendra Modi wants to implicate me in a fabricated case because he fears Arvind Kejriwal. Keep up the good fight. My wife, who has supported me since day one, is ill and by herself at home. Look after her. And I want to advise Delhi’s children to work hard in class and pay attention to their parents “Just before heading to the CBI headquarters, Mr. Sisodia informed his followers.

“Manish is innocent. His arrest is dirty politics. There is a lot of anger among the people due to the arrest of Manish. Everyone is watching. People are understanding everything. People will respond to this. This will boost our spirits further. Our struggle will get stronger,”tweeted by Kejriwal following Sisodia’s arrest.

Sanjay Singh of the AAP directly criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for arresting Sisodia and tweeted,”Manish Sisodia’s arrest is the height of dictatorship. Modi ji, you have not done a good thing by arresting a good person and the best Education Minister. Even God will not forgive you. One day your dictatorship will definitely end,”

Since the Delhi Excise Policy 2021–22 was dropped on July 31, 2022, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) have been looking into a number of senior leaders and close allies of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). The “old excise system,” which was in effect prior to November 17, 2020, has been reinstated by the Delhi government.

In response, Delhi’s lieutenant governor VK Saxena asked the CBI to look into claims of legal infractions and procedural errors in the implementation of the programme. The house of the Deputy Chief Minister, who the CBI has not named as an accused, has been the subject of several searches by the ED and CBI at different places throughout the nation. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the AAP have also engaged in political squabbles over the supposed scandal.

The BJP claimed that the Delhi government reinstated the previous state-wide alcohol regulation mainly to hide fraud in the excise division.

“Manish Sisodia has been accused of corruption by the BJP. But neither his home nor his financial accounts gave you anything. They were unable to support any of the accusations they made against him. Attacking the popularity of AAP and Kejriwal is the reason for his arrest “In an earlier press conference, Aatishi from the Aam Aadmi Party claimed.
