After his wife and kids took a selfie with bundles of Rs. 500 notes, a UP cop got into problems

A police officer in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, received an immediate transfer as a result of a selfie his family took with wads of cash. After a selfie of the cop’s wife and kids posing with bundles of Rs 500 bills went popular on social media, an investigation into the officer was opened.

The family of the police officer can be seen in the picture, which is currently going viral on social media, sitting on a bed with a large stack of cash worth Rs 14 lakh.

A senior police official launched an investigation into the incident as soon as the image of the cop holding bundles of notes went viral. Ramesh Chandra Sahani, the station’s in charge, has been moved to the police division.

Ramesh Chandra Sahani, however, has come to his defence and claimed that the image was shot on November 14, 2021, when he sold a piece of family property.

A senior police officer described the incident to India Today, saying, “A station-house officer’s picture is becoming viral on social media. The image depicts the cop’s wife and kids holding bundles of notes. The cop has been moved to the police queue after we took notice of the situation. There is now an investigation.
