After Tata acquired ownership of Air India, the grooming standards for flight attendants were revised. The recently updated regulations advise male cabin crew employees to become bald or clean-shaven if they have severely receding hairlines and balding patches.

Numerous cabin staff employees would need some time to adjust to the new regulations, according to unidentified Air India insiders who spoke with the news organization ANI.
“Air India is the only airline in the nation and has been doing business overseas for many years. The crew’s representations and portrayals fall short of international standards. According to one of the sources cited by ANI, the new administration intends to alter people’s perceptions of flyers.
“Crew with male balding patterns are allowed to have a bald appearance. The crew must maintain a full bald appearance if they have a visible scalp, a U or V shape hairline on the head, or huge bald patches. For a neat appearance, the head must be shaved every day. According to the cabin staff handbook, crew cuts are not allowed.
The width of the sacred bracelets worn by Sikhs cannot be more than 0.5 cm, and no designs, logos, or stones are allowed.
The female cabin staff members have been instructed to swap out any pearl jewelry for simple, round diamond or gold stud earrings.
“Avoid unprofessional group lounging, and always act properly when wearing a uniform. Talking quietly is always appreciated.”
“The cabin crew should not proceed to duty-free stores and should travel straight to the boarding gate following immigration and security checks,” Air India stated in a circular published in early February.
In October of last year, Tata Sons regained ownership of Air India, over 70 years after it had been nationalized. The government selected the international corporation salt to software as the successful airline bidder.
On December, 30 brand-new aircraft, including five wide-body Boeing aircraft, would be delivered to Air India. This is a step in the company’s plan to expand both its domestic and global activities.
