Details about Gautam Adani as the 3rd Richest Person in the World:

An individual of Asian descent has reportedly never before entered the top three on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Mukesh Ambani, the CEO of Reliance, is ranked 11th on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index with a total net worth of USD 91.9 billion.

For the first time ever, an Asian cracked the top three of the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, surpassing fellow countrymen Mukesh Ambani and Jack Ma from China. With a fortune of $137.4 billion, Mr. Adani has surpassed Bernard Arnault of France and is now just behind US billionaires Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos in terms of wealth.

The 60-year-old Mr. Adani has been investing in everything from data centers to cement, media, and alumina over the past four years to build his coal-to-ports conglomerate. The group today controls the largest private-sector coal miner, city-gas distributor, and operator of ports and airports in India.

Environmentalists have criticized the company’s Carmichael mine in Australia, but it promised in November to invest $70 billion in renewable energy to become the greatest generator in the world.

After Tata Group and Reliance Industries, the Adani Group is India’s third-largest conglomerate. The group is active in a variety of sectors, including ports, power, green energy, gas, and airports. After making a bid for the 5G spectrum, the Adani Group now intends to enter the telecom industry.
