Details about CBSE forbids ChatGPT AI use in Class 10, Class 12 board exams 2023

One of the rules in the CBSE board exam guidelines read, “Mobile, ChatGPT and other electronic equipment will not be allowed in test hall.”

The use of ChatGPT will be regarded as adopting unfair exam practises, according to board authorities.

“Within the exam centre, students are not permitted to bring any electronic devices. Using a gadget to access ChatGPT prevents the use of unfair means, “According to PTI, a senior board official stated.

Released in November 2022, ChatGPT (Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer) is a writing tool that, depending on the input it gets, may produce text that mimics human speech, music, marketing copy, news articles, student essays, and more.

By anticipating subsequent word sequences, a large language model (LLM), a novel artificial intelligence (AI) system, aims to produce writing that mimics that of a human.

There is a warning statement on the exam entrance card that reads, “You shouldn’t engage in any unethical behaviour. If discovered, you will be charged with using unfair means (UFM) activity, and the board will take appropriate action.”
