FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023 Opening Ceremony

The eagerly anticipated FIH Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023 ceremonial opening ceremony took place at Cuttack, Odisha’s famed Barabati Stadium.

The worldwide audience was mesmerized by some of the best artists in the nation and beyond during the star-studded inauguration ceremony.

The Barabati Celebrations promote Odisha’s rich culture and display its sporting ability to the globe as a lead-up to the FIH Hockey World Cup 2023.

Over 50,000 people gathered in the stadium to enjoy the glittering and exciting performances by Bollywood and Hollywood A-listers as well as international ensembles. The tournament’s 16 participating teams’ captains will also participate virtually.

Ranveer Singh, Disha Patani, and Pritam, the musician who wrote the HWC 2023 anthem, performed live at the opening ceremony, together with the well-known K-Pop group BLACKSWAN, which includes Shreya Lenka of Odisha. Along with the renowned Prince Dance Group and numerous other performers, the festival also featured the power couple of Hollywood, Sabyasachi Mishra and Archana Sahu.

Through performances and technology, the opening ceremony, “Celebrating the Spirit of Hockey,” highlighted the history and tradition of Odisha. On the eve of the event, Ranveer Singh, Disha Patani, and Pritam paid Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik a visit. In order to make the hockey World Cup opening ceremony a huge success, the chief minister asked the citizens of Cuttack city for their assistance.

While Cuttack was abuzz with anticipation for the highly anticipated event, the city government and police had put extensive planning into making sure everything went off without a hitch.
