Heavy vehicles will be prohibited from entering Cuttack from January 1 to 12 during the FIH Hockey World Cup

Thousands of people are anticipated to flock to Cuttack for the FIH Hockey World Cup inauguration ceremony, which is set for January 11. The district administration here has prohibited the entry of large vehicles to facilitate the smooth running of the much-anticipated event.

The decision was made with the safety and comfort of renowned people, VIPs, and VVIPs at the opening ceremony in mind said Cuttack DM Bhabani Shankar Chayani in an order.

According to the order, vehicles, tractors, and tippers transporting sand, chips, stones, and bricks are restricted from January 1 midnight to January 12 midnight in Cuttack and the route leading to Bhubaneswar.

Vehicles hauling critical supplies, on the other hand, are immune from the limitations, according to Chayani.

On January 11, 2023, Hockey India (HI) will host the FIH Men’s World Cup at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack.

From January 13 to 29, 2023, the famous competition will be staged in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela.
