In the basement of a government building in Jaipur, more than Rs 2 crore in 'unclaimed' cash and 1 kg of gold were discovered

A 1 kg gold bar and 2.31 crore rupees in unclaimed cash were discovered by Rajasthani government personnel at the government facility Yojana Bhawan. Police reported that about 7-8 members of the department have been taken into custody for interrogation.

On the basis of detailed information provided by Mahesh Gupta, Additional Director, the cash was found by Jaipur city police. Jaipur Police Commissioner Anand Srivastava stated that the Additional Director of the IT Department had notified the police that they had discovered cash and a gold bar in their basement during a late-night press conference alongside the Chief Secretary Usha Sharma and DGP.

“In a suitcase stashed in a cupboard inside the Government Office Yojana Bhawan in Jaipur’s basement, more than Rs 2.31 crores in cash and almost 1 kg of gold biscuits were discovered. ANI reported Jaipur Police Commissioner Anand Kumar Srivastava as stating, “Police have seized these notes under 102 CrPC and a team has been established to examine this matter.

“CCTV video is being looked through. Additionally, CM Ashok Gehlot has been notified of the situation, Anand Kumar Srivastava continued.
