Indian Railways will launch the Vande Bharat Express and the Jagannath Express in Odisha

The Indian Railways intends to launch the ‘Jagannath Express’ in order to promote Jagannath culture. The proposed Jagannath Express will be introduced ahead of the Rath Yatra event in Puri, which attracts lakhs of devotees from all over the country and the world every year, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Saturday.

The projected Jagannath Express, according to Vaishnaw, will be part of the Bharat Gaurav Trains (Theme-based Tourist Circuit trains) designed to promote India’s rich cultural history and spectacular historical landmarks to the people of India and the world. Already, Ramayan Express was the first to be included in the project, and now Jagannath Express will be included, and the project will undoubtedly assist devotees to receive a taste of Jagannath culture, food, and language, according to Vaishnaw.

The Railway Minister further stated that, in addition to the Jagannath Express, Odisha will soon receive a Vande Bharat express.

When asked about the metro rail project, Vaishnaw stated, “Once we receive a proposal from the Odisha government, we will be able to think and work accordingly.” However, no proposal has been received from the state government thus far.”

Vaishnaw went on to say that under Narendra Modi’s leadership, a lot of emphases has been put on developing railway infrastructure in Odisha, which was neglected by the previous UPA government.

“Work on the development of 32 stations has been finished, and work on four more stations is currently underway.” “Work on the Bhubaneswar railway station, as well as the Puri station, is progressing well,” Vaishnaw remarked.
