Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik laid the foundation stone of Vedanta Aluminium Park in Jharsuguda

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik laid the foundation for a massive aluminium facility that will be built by Vedanta Ltd. At the Make In Odisha, 2022 Conclave, the chief minister officially laid the cornerstone by pressing the button in front of Vedanta chairman Anil Agarwal. The Vedanta Aluminium Park in Jharsuguda, which spans 253 acres, will be one of the biggest metal parks in India, according to Agarwal.

Vedanta Aluminium and the Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation are partners on the project. Vedanta Aluminium CEO Rahul Sharma informed the media that the projected park will be a top-notch industrial complex where businesses may set up their production facilities and get the hot metal (molten aluminium) from Vedanta’s smelter in Jharsuguda.

With a capacity of 1.75 million tonnes annually, Vedanta’s aluminium smelter in Jharsuguda is among the biggest in the world.

“Odisha, with its natural advantages, is currently the aluminium capital of India and has the capacity to do so in the future. Vedanta has made more than 1 lakh crore in investments throughout the years, generating more than 5 lakh possibilities for direct and indirect livelihoods in the state. To optimise value addition and further advance the industrialization of the state, the Vedanta Aluminium Park will now attract more downstream firms to Odisha, according to Agarwal.
