Users of WhatsApp will soon be able to transmit voice-like instant video communications. The feature, which is owned by Meta, will reportedly be made available to all users in the upcoming weeks via an over-the-air (OTA) update. Similar to voice notes, video messages, according to WhatsApp, are a “fun” means of connecting with others and fostering dialogue. Users must submit concise messages because the time limit is only 60 seconds, which is something that many users would value. The function is comparable to Snapchat’s instant video messaging, except those are transient communications that disappear after being opened.
