The Central government in New Delhi presented the National Startup Award-2022 to Prantae Solutions Pvt Ltd, a health and wellness startup with offices in Odisha.

The eight-year-old firm was founded by biotechnologist Sumona Kajree Mishra of Bhubaneswar, and its goal is to provide affordable technology for uncommon and untreated diseases through the use of medical devices and therapies. According to Sumona, who experienced preeclampsia, a pregnancy illness, “the startup was created out of my experience.”

Sumona received her PhD from the Jawaharlal Nehru University’s International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology. Since then, she has created EyeRa, a tool for early preeclampsia detection, ProFolU, a kidney health monitoring tool, Salubrious, a tool to combat hidden hunger, and Embargo, a tool to detect antibiotics in food products.

Of the 11 trademarks her startup has submitted, nine have been approved. Prior to this, Prantae Solutions won the CII-IPR Award for best trademark portfolio in the life sciences under the “Startup” category.

With this prize, companies and facilitators are recognised for their remarkable abilities, both monetarily and in terms of quantifiable social effect. Piyush Goyal, the Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution & Textiles, presented the award along with a cash prize of Rs 5.
