Details about Bhubaneswar Nandankanan Zoo Ropeway to be ready soon

Mahapatra apparently granted the order because of the current season’s increasing number of visitors to the zoo. Approximately 3,000 tourists per day are anticipated to use the ropeway. The project’s development had begun in October of last year as a result of Nandankanan’s agreement with Damodar Ropeway Infra Limited, a company based in Kolkata (DRIL). It has to be operational within 18 months.

With a 13 crore rupee investment, the project is being implemented under PPP. Two towers and a 626-meter-long mono-cable are being used to build the ropeway. Despite the fact that 12 cabins will be running, each one can hold three people.

The chief secretary evaluated other construction projects at Nandankanan in the meantime and directed zoo expansion work to begin as soon as possible in the 604-hectare Chudanga reserve forest and Krushna Nagar protected forest. The zoo intends to expand its safaris there to include bear, tigers, lions, and other herbivore animals.

Mahapatra also went to the botanical garden and checked at Kiakani Lake’s restoration efforts. An investment of Rs 9 crore is being made in the restoration of the lake and garden. Additionally, a boating facility for tourists will be built in the lake.
