According to Scindia, Uttar Pradesh had just six airports when the Modi government assumed office. The minister stated that Uttar Pradesh currently has ten airports, including the Ayodhya airport, up from six in 2014. According to Scindia, there are currently 41 cities connected to Uttar Pradesh from the 18 that there were in 2014.

In 2014, there were 700 flight movements per week in Uttar Pradesh; today, there are 1,654 flight movements. According to Scindia, this is a 137% increase.

Last year, Scindia had stated that the airport in Ayodhya will progressively expand its capacity.  “The airport will occupy 65,000 square feet in the first phase. It will be able to accommodate two or three aircraft each hour. The construction of a 2,200-meter runway has begun. Thus, the airport will be equipped to handle landings for Airbus 319 and 320 as well as Boeing 737 aircraft. Eight planes can initially use the airport apron, Scindia had informed reporters.
