Suzuki plans to establish a second facility in Gujarat and invest Rs 3200 crore in a new production line

On Wednesday, Suzuki Motor Corporation, a Japanese automaker, revealed its intentions to invest Rs 3,200 crore in Gujarat to establish a new production line capable of producing 2.5 lakh units annually. Additionally, the business plans to invest Rs 35,000 crore in the state’s second auto facility.

Toshihiro Suzuki, President of Suzuki Motor Corp., made the announcement at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit in 2024.

According to him, the new production line will generate an extra 2.5 lakh units annually. As a result, Suzuki Motor Gujarat’s yearly production capacity will rise from the present 7.5 lakh to one million units.

Toshihiro Suzuki added, “The company will invest Rs 35,000 crore for the construction of a second car plant in Gujarat, which would produce another 1 million units per year,” in addition to highlighting the intentions for India.

Consequently, Suzuki will produce a total of 2 million units annually in Gujarat.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the ninth iteration of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, which takes place on January 10–12.
