What’s worse is that Himanshu V, the employee, had recently moved to Canada from India for his new Meta position. Mr. Himanshu is an IIT-Kharagpur alumnus who has previously worked for companies like GitHub, Adobe, and Flipkart, according to his LinkedIn page.

He stated in a LinkedIn post that he moved to Canada to work for Meta, but two days later, his voyage came to a stop because of the company’s major layoffs. My heart goes out to everyone going through a challenging time right now. The now-ex-Meta employee claimed to be unsure of his future move and urged LinkedIn users to let him know if they knew of any openings for software engineers.

Sincerely, I don’t know! Whatever happens after that excites me. Please let me know if you are aware of any openings for software engineers in Canada or India.

Following dismal profits and a decline in sales, Facebook’s parent company Meta said on Wednesday that more than 11,000 staff would be let go in an effort to cut costs. “I’m going to list some of the most challenging modifications we’ve ever made to Meta today. I’ve made the decision to let more than 11,000 of our great colleagues go in order to reduce the size of our workforce by roughly 13% “Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, stated in a blog post.

Employees would receive 16 weeks of base salary as severance, plus an additional two weeks for each year of service. According to the corporation, employees will be reimbursed for healthcare expenses for six months.
